My predecessors, Melanie and Jennifer Bloom, did an impressive job in the creation of this website. They have now moved on to college and have given me the opportunity to expand on and improve Volunteens.com My goal is to make volunteering easy and accessible to all teenagers, so that they can understand their responsibilities, and improve the lives of others in their communities.

In addition to expanding and updating the listing of volunteer opportunities, I have added some new sections. One of the most important additions is the event calendar. By clicking on the calendar, you can easily view upcoming events that offer volunteer opportunities.

Another new addition to the site is the creation of "VolunTeens Teams." Teens can now join Volunteens by entering their email addresses. When groups of volunteers are needed for special events, I will contact the students who joined VOLUNTEENS.COM about joining a VolunTeens Team to help out at the upcoming event.

In order to expand the number of opportunities available to teen volunteers, I have also included a new form on the website that enables organizations submit information about their organization and its need for volunteers.

Please take some time to explore the website. In particular, I hope you will read our Spotlight section. It highlights the community service achievements of teens like you. Perhaps their stories will help motivate you to make a valuable contribution of your time and effort to your community.
