Teen Advisory Board @ Delray Beach Public Library (TAB@DBPL) The TAB@DBPL was formed to give teens the opportunity to participate in and influence teen services at the Delray Beach Public Library. Membership Requirements: Ages 13 - 17. Teen Volunteer Application/Model Release and Statement of Commitment. Members must commit to one year of service and a minimum of 75 hours of service for that year. Service hours can be met with a combination of activities: attendance at monthly meetings (1 hr, once a month required) during fiscal year October - September, AND chairing one Young Adult Yearly Program such as Book Discussion Chair and Got Gaming? Chair Various positions available for Homework Helpers and FCAT (3rd, 4th, & 5th) Tutors. Service with the Special Olympics begins with the Indoor Games in September. Students can help with Bowling competitions on September 18th. In addition, volunteers are needed to help with various sports practices both fall and spring. Volunteers assist coaches through enthusiastic encouragement of the athletes and often participate in physical activity.

Operation Smile is a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization providing reconstructive surgery and related health care to indigent children and young adults in developing countries and the United States. Operation Smile provides education and training around the world to physicians and other health professionals to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Student associations are being established worldwide, and are truly creating miracles for children through education, leadership, and service. Currently, there are over 250 clubs in middle schools, high schools, universities, and medical schools. These clubs are responsible for raising awareness and funds in support of the mission of Operation Smile. Join this never-ending challenge to take care of the world's disfigured children. It is one made more worthwhile through each friendship forged and culture bridged -- that is what student associations are all about.
