Caridad Health Clinic
Translating/Tutorial Program: Each Saturday morning students meet to help migrant families and local doctors communicate at the Caridad Health Clinic. Students also help by baby-sitting children of patients while parents are busy with the doctor. Often Spanish speaking students help older members of the families learn English. Although open to everyone, this is an excellent opportunity for students in the Spanish curriculum to practice and perfect Spanish.

Typically, teen volunteers provide service in many areas, including the information desk, gift shop, sibling Clubhouse, clinic waiting rooms, Close to Home centers, and in office settings. Most assignments will be supporting families, patients, and staff. Teens continuing in the Nationwide Children's volunteer program will have the opportunity to train on patient units. Teens must be 14 and in high school by Septermber 1st. Typically, teen volunteers provide service in many areas, including the information desk, gift shop, sibling Clubhouse, clinic waiting rooms, Close to Home centers, and in office settings. Most assignments will be supporting families, patients, and staff. Teens continuing in the Nationwide Children's volunteer program will have the opportunity to train on patient units. Assignments will be same day/same time each week, typically 2-3 hours.
