Best Buddies enhance the lives of people with developmental disabilities through a one-to-one friendship and integrated employment. Best Buddies needs volunteers to help with clerical work, filing, answering phones, and organizing and implementing events. Minimum age is 14 years old.

Mission: The Make-A-Wish Foundation grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-a-Wish Foundation of Southern Florida serves Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, Martin, St. Lucie, Indian River, Okeechobee, Highlands, Monroe, Hendry, Glades, Collier and Lee. OUr biggest cities include Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Stuart, Port St. Lucie, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, Key West, Naples, and Fort Myers counties. The average cost of a wish is $5,000. The Kids for Wish Kids® (elementary, middle school ages) and Wishmakers® (high school and college ages) programs are fundraising programs implemented int he schools, religious organizations, and community/civic organizations to raise funds and community awareness on behalf of Make-A-Wish. “Big Brothers” and “Big Sisters” are needed to mentor at-risk elementary students (grades 3,4, & 5) in a structured program in local elementary schools. There are locations available throughout Palm Beach Country at selected schools. Volunteers will have to attend one traininng session. A weekly commitment of 1 1/2 hour meetings is required.

We are a non-profit horse rescue facility providing an anlternative to destruction of the horses that have been found to be EIA positive. We are a quarantine and resuce ranch providing opportunities to families and individuals to care for and sponsor a horse. We are in need of volunteers 7 days a week for various horse-related ranch activities such as watering, feeding, and cleaning of stalls. Any individual with grant oand fundraising experience is also needed.
