Giving Lax is an organization dedicated to bringing lacrosse to underprivileged youth in South Florida. Giving Lax collects new and used lacrosse equipment to outfit the children with all necessary protective gear. Once we've collected enough equipment, we begin our instructional lacrosse clinics at various after-school centers. We are always in need of volunteer coaches.

The Humane Society of Broward County provides shelter, aid, and adoptions for animals. We also educate the community about respect and kindness to all animals.

Typically, teen volunteers provide service in many areas, including the information desk, gift shop, sibling Clubhouse, clinic waiting rooms, Close to Home centers, and in office settings. Most assignments will be supporting families, patients, and staff. Teens continuing in the Nationwide Children's volunteer program will have the opportunity to train on patient units. Teens must be 14 and in high school by Septermber 1st. Typically, teen volunteers provide service in many areas, including the information desk, gift shop, sibling Clubhouse, clinic waiting rooms, Close to Home centers, and in office settings. Most assignments will be supporting families, patients, and staff. Teens continuing in the Nationwide Children's volunteer program will have the opportunity to train on patient units. Assignments will be same day/same time each week, typically 2-3 hours.

Our mission is to break the cycle of poverty for children of low income working families of Broward through family oriented pre-school child care services/education and family support/intervention.

Small number of volunteers, ages 15-18, are needed to help with pet adoptions in Boca, Saturdays and Sundays (cats only) from 10: 00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Written parental consent required. Must be 18 years old to participate.
