VSA Arts is a non-profit organization whose mission is to create learning opportunities through the arts for people with disabilities. Volunteer positions are available on Saturdays through June, July, and August. Positions include: Art Assistant for a Furniture Painting Class at the Lighthouse Center for the Arts in Tequesta, and Art Assistant for a Cartooning Class at the John Prince Park in Lake Worth. Responsibilities include assisting the art instructor with distributing supplies, assisting participants as needed, and encouraging participants to stay on task. Volunteers are also needed Sept. 18- Oct. 9: "A Portrait of Me" - class for teens and adults with disabilities. From 10:30 - 12 noon at Burns Road Community Center, Palm Beach Gardens.

AACY is constantly looking for volunteers! We have many events during the year for our youth caregivers, ranging from fishing trips to cooking classes to stress camps! Our office also needs help with administrative tasks. Please contact us if you want to help!
Caridad Health Clinic
Translating/Tutorial Program: Each Saturday morning students meet to help migrant families and local doctors communicate at the Caridad Health Clinic. Students also help by baby-sitting children of patients while parents are busy with the doctor. Often Spanish speaking students help older members of the families learn English. Although open to everyone, this is an excellent opportunity for students in the Spanish curriculum to practice and perfect Spanish.

Leader and Sidewalker. Students are needed to aid handicapped youngsters with riding instruction. Training is provided to ensure safe and enjoyable experiences for both the rider and the volunteers. (Prior horse experience is not necessary.) Volunteers will be asked to commit to a specific riding class. Students to groom and feed the horses, clean the stalls, etc, are also needed. If you love horses, this is a great volunteer opportunity!

Palm Beach Opera needs volunteers on a "call as needed" basis. Volunteers will help with a variety of clerical duties needed for the timely distribution of mass mailings and newsletters. Dress is "business casual." In addition, they would welcome some talented teens to help with their summer programs for children. If you are interested in art, music, writing, or drama, this could be a perfect fit.
