Individuals age 16 and older are invited to volunteer on our build sites with a signed waiver from a parent or legal guardian. Volunteers are not required to have any building skills. Projects may include any aspect of housing construction (including but not limited to) framing, roofing, electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, landscaping, loading and unloading materails, and cleaning up. We are also always looking for office volunteers to greet visitors, file, assist with data entry and other miscellaneous jobs.

Operation Smile is a private, not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization providing reconstructive surgery and related health care to indigent children and young adults in developing countries and the United States. Operation Smile provides education and training around the world to physicians and other health professionals to achieve long-term self-sufficiency. Student associations are being established worldwide, and are truly creating miracles for children through education, leadership, and service. Currently, there are over 250 clubs in middle schools, high schools, universities, and medical schools. These clubs are responsible for raising awareness and funds in support of the mission of Operation Smile. Join this never-ending challenge to take care of the world's disfigured children. It is one made more worthwhile through each friendship forged and culture bridged -- that is what student associations are all about. Caridad Health Clinic
Translating/Tutorial Program: Each Saturday morning students meet to help migrant families and local doctors communicate at the Caridad Health Clinic. Students also help by baby-sitting children of patients while parents are busy with the doctor. Often Spanish speaking students help older members of the families learn English. Although open to everyone, this is an excellent opportunity for students in the Spanish curriculum to practice and perfect Spanish.
